is an indie electronic musician. Inspired by video game music, indie funk/pop, k-pop, and film music, she wants to make silly little tracks that tell stories.

zip zap’s DAW of choice is Logic Pro, she has basic knowledge of middleware such as Audiokinetic Wwise, and has her own home recording studio. She is also a violinist, vocalist, and amateur guitarist. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or inquiries!

About Me

Emily [she/they], under the stage name “zipzapzoom”, is a multi-instrumentalist and composer. Inspired by a wide range of different sounds from Louie Zong to Ludovico Einaudi, the music she feels most at home writing is cozy, atmospheric, and heartfelt. She is an experienced composer and sound designer for live theater with a long-standing love of video games, and hopes to take her first steps in the Australian indie games scene in 2024-2025.

Likes: her cat, islay whiskey, info-dumping about the Lake Pedder Earthworm, calling any sound in her environment “sound design”, minecraft. Dislikes: writing their own bio.

The songs currently living rent free in her head are: “Shooting Star” by Kep1er, Towa Bird’s debut album “American Hero”, and “Lovers Always Lose” by Boys Go To Jupiter.

zipzapzoom lives and works as a composer on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. She acknowledges and has deep respect for their elders past and present, honours both their traditions of making music and art on country and their enduring contributions to the arts today, and lives with an awareness that sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
